About this event
Professor Moon Duchin will discuss her policy research on how voting systems compare in terms of their tendency to provide proportional representation, with a particular focus on minority representation in ranked choice voting systems.
Moon Duchin is a Professor of Mathematics and a Senior Fellow in the Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University. She leads a research lab that studies the data science of elections and redistricting (mggg.org). In this cycle, she supported the work of over a dozen redistricting bodies through plan evaluation and community mapping projects, and she served as an expert witness in a wide variety of court cases involving partisan or racial gerrymandering.
